Our Services
At Renaissance Verte, we provide high-quality seeds and essential agricultural support to empower farmers and strengthen food security in the CAR.
  • Seed Production
We grow our seeds locally in the Central African Republic (CAR), producing certified, climate-resilient seed varieties for staple crops such as maize, cassava, and beans. Our seeds are adapted to local conditions, ensuring higher yields, pest resistance, and drought tolerance.
  • Distribution & Export Services
Distribution: Our seeds are distributed through local cooperatives, markets, and direct-to-farmer sales, ensuring accessibility for all farmers.
Export: We supply locally adapted, resilient seeds to neighboring countries with similar agricultural conditions, helping to strengthen regional food security.
  • Farmer Support & Training
We provide training and agricultural resources to farmers, equipping them with best practices in planting, crop management, and sustainable agriculture. By sharing modern seed technologies and climate-smart techniques, we help farmers maximize their harvests and long-term success.
Agricultural Landscape
of the Central African Republic

Agriculture is the backbone of the Central African Republic's (CAR) economy, contributing approximately 55% of GDP and employing about 75% of the population, primarily in subsistence farming. Key food crops include cassava, maize, sorghum, millet, peanuts, and plantains, while cotton, coffee, and tobacco are the main cash crops. Despite its potential, the agricultural sector faces significant challenges, such as low productivity, poor infrastructure, limited access to markets and inputs, and vulnerability to climate shocks. Rainfed agriculture dominates, and most farming is manual with minimal use of fertilizers or machinery. Women play a crucial role in agricultural labor, representing over 78% of the workforce. Food insecurity is a pressing issue, with 41% of the population severely food insecure due to high food prices and disrupted markets. Revitalizing agriculture through investments in infrastructure, climate-smart practices, and institutional reforms is critical for poverty reduction and economic growth in the CAR.
